Changes to bursary criteria introduced for 2024/25 academic year

It has long been an ambition of the School that access to a Steiner education should not depend solely on the ability to pay fees. In this endeavour, bursaries are available to help fund fees for qualifying families. This financial assistance can now meet up to 60% of tuition fees for pupils in Kindergarten to Class 12.

The Board of Trustees has agreed to increase the bursary percentage from up to 40% to up to 60% of the annual fees. This should help make Steiner education more accessible to lower income families,”

notes Bursar, Donna Ewing, adding:

There is also a new requirement for a Personal Statement from the applicant; and we are taking into account more capital versus liabilities to ensure fairness for all applicants.

We’ve opened it up to give a better opportunity to families who would think a Steiner education is out of their reach, and I fully & wholeheartedly support that.”

The Board of Trustees has made £105,092 available for distribution as bursaries for the 2024-25 session. The criteria guiding how this is allocated have been updated and is now published on our website. The changes introduce a new lower income threshold for eligibility.
