Prospective teachers for whom English is an additional language, must meet the requirements for entry on to the Course : C1 or IELTS 6.5, (minimum of 5.5 in all skills).
Applications are welcome throughout the year for new courses beginning each September, but preferably before the beginning of August. Prospective students are requested to complete the Application Form, Interview Booking Form and provide two references using the Reference Form below. Acceptance onto the Course is dependent on an interview and suitable references.
Course Entry Requirements
Those who are intending to follow a path towards being a Steiner Teacher must have a recognised Degree, underpinned by a minimum of:
- SQA Higher English at grade C (or equivalent) in English
- SQA National 5 Mathematics at grade B
(It is possible to sit these exams at the same time as taking our course.)
- Candidates who are working towards Steiner recognition as an Upper School Subject Teacher at SCVQ level must have the relevant degree for that subject.
Prospective teachers for whom English is an additional language, will be required to meet proficient levels in both spoken and written English before completing the Course.
Those who would like to follow the Course for another reason will have their previous education, skills and life experience taken into account.

Fees are subject to a periodic review. The fee for The Teacher Education Course for session 2020-2021 is £2,200 per year, paid either in advance yearly or termly, or by direct debit over 10
months. The fee for Parents on the Introduction to Steiner – Waldorf Education Course is £800.
Students who have completed the first year of the Teacher Education Programme may be eligible to apply for a loan from the Godparents Anthroposophical Training Fund to help with the outlay of course fees for subsequent years
