Advanced Higher Art Exhibition

It is the time of year again when the toils of our talented art pupils can be celebrated and they themselves can breathe a sigh of relief that the hard work is over. This year has been an especially challenging year, with the easter holidays landing earlier in the year.

May sees the showcasing of the five Class 12 Advanced Higher Art Projects in the School Hall.

Opening Wednesday 5pm – 7pm for Advanced Higher pupils’ families, the wider parent body and general public.

The following day (Thursday 16th May) it will open again from 9am – 4pm for the school community. All visitors who are not enrolled pupils and staff, please report to the School Office to get a Visitor’s Pass before heading to the exhibition.

Advanced Higher Art & Design results are outstanding, with all candidates achieving an ‘A’ grade for three consecutive years.

The portfolios of two previous ESS candidates were selected to be included in an SQA online exhibition in 2023.

A virtual exhibition of a selection of works from previous years candidates can be viewed on the School’s ESSTalks.org platform: Art Exhibitions. These depict works from their study sheets, giving a glimpse of their portfolios.

In 2021, the pandemic art exhibitions could be viewed by the school pupils only. To share this exhibition of work with the wider Steiner Waldorf community, we created the school’s first online exhibition. Upper School Art Teacher, Penny Reid, also exhibited several solo exhibitions in 2021.
