Three Alumni Brothers Take On ‘World’s Toughest Row’

Euan, Jamie and Lachlan Maclean, who all attended the school, are embarking on one of the most demanding endurance events on the planet to raise £250k for their chosen charities. More people have been into space or climbed Mount Everest than have rowed across the Atlantic; yet this trio have the goal to become the first three brothers to row any ocean.

Bound by blood, salt and spirit, the 3,000 mile unsupported rowing race across the Atlantic ocean will take between 40 to 60 days and see them facing 40-foot waves, shark-infested waters and busy shipping lanes, in aid of Children 1^st and Feedback Madagascar.

Born in Edinburgh, this trio thrive on adventure, forever pushing each others’ boundaries. Getting lost at sea, escaping to the lochs or throwing themselves off coastal cliffs; always looking for ways to scare Mum and Dad.

Now older and looking to broaden their horizons the team of keen sportsman and talented musicians are heading for their greatest adventure yet. The annual race begins in early December, with up to 30 teams participating from around the world.
