Successful SQA Appeals: 96% Pass Rate

The results of appeals for SQA National 5 and Higher exam results were received by candidates today. Under the system put in place by the SQA in 2024, individual candidates had an opportunity to appeal directly to the exam board, while the school also retained the right to appeal results which it suspected were wrong, due to marking errors.

Of the small number of appeals submitted in 2024, the majority were successful, meaning that those candidates have now been upgraded.

The School has a especially good record, historically, when appealing exam results. The success rate nationally is under 20%.

These results also alter the headline ‘pass’ rate for ESS Higher exam results in 2024, from 94% to 96%.
