Geography Teacher Volunteers Down Mine
March 23 2018
Edinburgh Steiner School teacher, Mr Pugh, is working with a team of volunteers at the Museum of Lead Mining, Wanlockhead, Dumfrieshire, to clear out rocks and mud from an abandoned tunnel in the Lochnell Lead Mine, last used in the 1950s. They are hoping to open it to visitors in the late spring.
“Class 9 usually visits the mine as part of their geology main lesson and this year’s Class will hopefully be among the first to walk through the restored section. I am very proud to be helping the museum, who have always given our pupils such a warm welcome.”
