The School is preparing to welcome some 2,000 people on campus for our 71st Christmas Market on Saturday. The programme of events is now published.

Proceeds from our annual Christmas Market are used as a school community funding pot for appropriate uses. These monies are intended for projects/items that will benefit school life and enhance the experience of the pupils, but are not classed as ‘essential’, core educational needs. Investment in items that are periodically funded by general school budgets such as maintenance and teaching materials budgets (i.e. textbook and boilers replacements) are excluded from this scope.

In addition, Class 4 organisers make investments in the event itself. The previous cohort of families added a set of marquees that will keep stallholders and visitors dry during the forecasted light rain showers, as well as a hot chocolate maker for the Christmas Market itself. This year, Class 4 has bought a much in-demand coffee machine.

In addition, recent applications made to the CMIG included the camping equipment for the recent DoE expedition.

Our current CMIG Committee is:

  • Chair: Alexander Marsh (Class 8 parent)
  • Treasurer: Donna Ewing (School Bursar)
  • Secretary: Arfon Smith (Class 8 parent)
  • Matthew Van Schagen (Class 11 parent)
  • Laura Anderson (Class 10 parent)
  • Laura Whyte (Class 8 parent)

Parents, teachers and pupils can use the online form to submit a project proposal to the Christmas Market Investment Group.
