Duke of Edinburgh pupils will soon take on the hills alone as part of the fourth section of the Bronze award: the expedition. This category involves planning, training for, and completing a two-day, one-night expedition.
Now the prelims are over, this year’s Bronze Duke of Edinburgh group will start preparing for their assessment walk. During this two day expedition, the group will need to prove their orienteering, campcraft and team working skills as well as work on their aim, which is ‘observe and document wildlife’.
"We will leave on the 10th June and return 11th June 2025.
A new cohort for the bronze DOE Award will come from next year’s Class 10. A group can consist of a maximum of seven participants and I’m excited to see who will sign up for this during the Outdoor Education Main Lesson in 2026.”
- Uschi Rosmanith, DoE Leader
